Nebius, AI cloud

Published 12.8.2026

Why did an AI cloud company choose Tallinn for its first Baltic deployment?

A 22 MW AI cloud infrastructure deployment by Nebius will go live at Greenergy Data Centers in late 2026, in a built-to-suit hall for NVIDIA GB300, the largest AI factory in the Baltics. From the release issued by Greenergy Data Centers and Tensor Estate on 12 August 2026.

The Nasdaq-listed AI cloud company announced that agreements signed in the second quarter expanded its AI infrastructure footprint in Europe. The Estonian deployment joins Nebius's rapidly expanding global capacity network: in Europe, Nebius is building large-scale AI factories in Lappeenranta, Finland, and Béthune, France, alongside an operational facility in Mäntsälä, Finland, and additional deployments in the UK, Spain and Iceland. The first 22 MW phase of the Tallinn deployment is scheduled to come online later this year.

Why Estonia?

According to Tom Blackwell, Nebius's Chief Communications Officer, Estonia is a natural choice for Nebius, with its world-class engineering talent, vibrant digital economy and start-up culture, and ambitious plans for both AI and the clean energy transition.

“Nebius's Tallinn AI factory, in partnership with Greenergy Data Centers, will provide advanced AI cloud infrastructure to support Estonia's growing innovation ecosystem and accelerate AI development and adoption,” Blackwell said. Nebius looks forward to working with partners across Estonia, including government, industry and universities, to strengthen AI skills, broaden access to AI and position the country as a leading hub for AI innovation and talent.

What does the deployment look like?

Nebius rents a dedicated 22 MW built-to-suit hall and installs its own NVIDIA hardware; MCF Group Estonia builds and runs the facility. The hall is direct liquid cooled on a closed loop that uses no water, fed by 2N utility power from Elering's Harku 330 kV substation next door, and sits alongside the campus's 2 MW of regular colocation.

What it means for Greenergy

“Today is the day we can officially welcome Nebius to our customer portfolio. Nebius is one of Europe's leading AI infrastructure companies, building its services on NVIDIA's most advanced technologies. Their decision to choose Greenergy is a strong recognition of our team's work and demonstrates that Estonia is emerging as a competitive destination for large-scale AI infrastructure deployments. This is a start,” said Kert Evert, CEO of Greenergy Data Centers.

Martin Salo, co-founder of Tensor Estate, which became a shareholder in Greenergy Data Centers in July 2026, said the project is the first phase of a broader development: “Until now, Northern Europe's major AI factories have been concentrated primarily in Finland, Sweden and Norway, driven by competitive electricity prices, renewable energy and a favourable climate. Bringing the Baltics' first AI factory to Estonia means that we are joining the group of countries where the world's leading AI companies are building their infrastructure.”

Nebius serves a global customer base from frontier labs and AI-native scale-ups to major enterprises, as well as leading technology companies including Microsoft and Meta. Source: press release, Greenergy Data Centers and Tensor Estate, 12 August 2026.
